With the weather acting like an oven you can’t turn off – ‘cracking the flags’ as they used to say – keeping us up all night, sweating like Prince Andrew in Pizza Express, it seems only right that we conduct a taste-test for this Summery sensation.

Elderflowers can be floral and fragrant, subtle yet heady. They have a certain distinctly musky and sweet scent and that’s what you get when you open the tin –a blast of fresh and hazy summer.

Elderflower extract is often used to make medicine, according to Web MD; to treat swollen sinuses, colds, the flu, bronchitis, diabetes, and constipation (but sadly not Corona). It can be distilled into a liquer as well; so it’s versatile.

The pouches are slim and tender to touch and they fit comfortably under the lip. The flavour is subtle without being nondescript. It’s got that lovely lasting quality to it: the hint of elderflower develops sweetly – but not too sweetly – it’s not overpowering or sickly.

The Nordic Spirit line launched in 2018 and its products are confidently and consistently replicated. I’ve often spoken at length to fellow Snussers about the varying quality of certain brands. Not naming names, but there’s a shitload of them around. It’s a bugbear for us on this site; hence the reason we ship in the brands we do. They are all trustworthy in this respect. This product comes with a 13 gram can containing 20 slim portions, at 0.65 grams each. There is a nicotine content of 9mg/portion. The total nicotine content clocks in around 13-14mg/g. The flavour lasts an aromatic 45-50 minutes.
